I had the pleasure of attending a media lunch at True Food Kitchen, Boca Raton’s newest hot spot. Founded by leading integrative medicine expert, Dr. Andrew Weil, and Restauranteur, Sam Fox, True Food Kitchen is a game changer for the food scene. The food was phenomenal, healthy, and diverse. Lucky for me, their menu caters to those that are gluten free, dairy free, organic, vegan, and vegetarian.
True Food Kitchen’s menu is regularly rotating so that their ingredients are at their peak freshness. Their menu is diverse so everyone feels like they can eat something. I recommend True Food Kitchen to anyone looking for healthy and delicious food, a great atmosphere, a terrific bar, and wonderful service. I can definitely see myself eating here regularly.
What we devoured:
- Pressed Apple Soda
- Charred Cauliflower
- Cashew Pad Thai
- Flourless Chocolate Cake (with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and cocoa nibs).
Fit Foodz Cafe, located in West Boca Raton, is one of my favorite places to dine. Fit Foodz offers a healthy variety of foods for a fraction of the cost and calories of other restaurants. They are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and they offer both juices and smoothies and meal plans (for a very low price). What I like most about Fit Foodz is that they help meets the needs of those with a wide range of dietary habits, including gluten free, paleo, vegan, and even vegetarian.
Some of my favorite foods have include spaghetti squash with turkey chili, zoodles with chicken, meatloaf with sweet potato rounds, and of course their fabulous desserts. As you know, being gluten free is not that easy, but having a place to be able to satisfy my sweet tooth has been heavenly! My favorite gluten free desserts have included twinkies, zebra cake, double layer chocolate cake, and almond butter cookies, just to name a few.
If you’re looking for a healthy alternative, then be sure to stop into Fit Foodz and mention my name when you stop in!
I am IN LOVE with this place. Bolay’s phrase “Bolay All Day” is the best way to describe how often I frequent there (okay, not every day, but more like two or three times per week). People question how often I eat there, but once you try it, you become instantly hooked. The setup is just like Chipotle; you approach the counter and choose your base(s), veggie(s), protein(s), topping(s), and then your sauce. However, Bolay is 100% gluten free!! That’s right, it’s a dedicated gluten free establishment!! The food is delicious and healthy, but also filling. Did I mention that their chocolate chip cookie (yes, gluten free) is one of the best cookies I have ever had??
My go-to meal consists of cilantro noodles, balsamic mushrooms, smoked cauliflower, and miso-glazed tofu. Not only is the food great, but the location is perfect (located inside the Polo Shoppes in Boca Raton). If you do not live near Boca Raton, do not fret because they have locations in Palm Beach and Wellington as well. Be sure to look out for their new location opening in Pembroke Pines.
Jack’s Miami, located in the heart of Wynwood, is not just your classic Italian restaurant; they are a brand of their own. Inspired by home cooked meals you can only get at your grandmother’s house, the food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is just as great.
Our meal started off with meatballs and ricotta cheese (to die for) and sausage with peppers (also amazing). We then got to nibble on Burrata and roasted peppers (which was my favorite part of the meal) and a chicken caesar salad (not pictured). Because of my gluten allergy, they could not make this gluten free, but my fiance had eggplant parmigiana (let me tell you, I have NEVER seen him eat eggplant before and he DEVOURED this). To end the night, because we all know there is ALWAYS room for dessert, my fiance had their famous cannoli.
I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to everyone in the area. This is the perfect place for a night out with your significant other, family, or a girl’s-night-out. If you aren’t in the mood for food (which will never happen), they also have a nice bar area.
If you follow my instagram page (which you should be!), you know that I frequent this place regularly (no, they are not paying me to come, I just love this place THAT much). With two locations in South Florida, one in Coral Springs and one in Boca Raton, this should be your go-to place for a sweet treat.
What I love most about this place is that they offer over 30 flavors! Aren’t you drooling just thinking about all of the options?! Their ices are made in-house and in small batches which helps give them their unique and amazing texture and flavor. My favorite flavors are Milky Way (YES, GLUTEN FREE!), cotton candy, and cherry.

There are not enough words to describe my gluten free love for Doc B’s. Located in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale (with locations coming to Aventura, Coral Gables, Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth in 2017), Doc B’s is a full-service restaurant AND bar.
Their menu is sophisticated, yet reasonably priced and they offer numerous gluten free options (they even have a separate fryer for their fries!). I had the Grilled California Artichokes (with a fantastic dipping sauce) and the West Coast Steak Sandwich (served on a gluten free bun, of course). Most importantly, and i’m sure my gluten free foodie friends will agree, they had hand-cut sweet potato fries!!! Everything was fantastic and the service was on-par with their food. The waitress was also well-versed with what could be made gluten free. I recommend this place to ANYONE AND EVERYONE, whether gluten free or not.
Beehive Kitchen is a gluten-friendly establishment located in Fort Lauderdale. Their food is hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and what I consider to be absolutely delicious. Beehive’s concept is similar to Bolay and Chipotle, where you approach the counter and “build your own bowl” (base, veggie, protein, and sauce). My go-to meal includes the sweet potato glass noodles, roasted sweet potatoes, parmesan roasted broccoli, wok-seared mushrooms, and baked almond chicken. My only regret is that the dessert is not gluten free, but their food is so good that I walk out feeling healthy and full every time.
